Bob crossed his 9th state line today, and since it is Father's Day, and he is the greatest father, he rode in the van as a special salute to the day. Well, part of the way. The van is very seductive to Bob. It calls to him with a special toot toot.
He was flying across Ohio with the wind at his back at 17 mph, but then the winded shifted and slowed him down to 12 mph. The Sweep told Bob and Rapid Russ, who were fighting to maintain last place, that if there was anything interesting to look at, he would tell them about it. So much for the staff's wanting the group to enjoy the scenery. I guess the Sweep had important business at the Holiday Inn Express. Bob is considered very fast in Naples.
Last night at dinner two of the fanatics were talking about how the body eats on itself if it doesn't get enough nutrients and calories while participating in such strenuous exercise. This gave Bob something entirely new to obsess about. He is really afraid to push himself now as he was expecting to have a life after this trip.
Marysville is where Scott's fertilizer and lawn treatments are made. The sign there says, "where the grass is greener". Bob thinks the grass will be greener in Boston. Only 10 more biking days!
